Zambia
Wildlife in Zambia
Zambia’s wildlife is diverse and abundant. The big 5 inhabit most of the parks but rhino are incredibly rare and confined to two parks. Aside from big game, the country’s many parks boast an array of incredible endemic species such as the black lechwe, Crawshay’s zebra and Thornicroft’s Giraffe. The Zambezi River is home to huge numbers of crocodiles and Hippos as well as the rare Tigerfish. In general, May to October is the best time for game viewing as the climate is drier and animals are more easily spotted but Zambia is a prime destination for wildlife enthusiasts April through to December.
