DAY 1-4: CENTRAL KALAHARI GAME RESERVE

On your arrival in Botswana’s capital, Gaborone, you will be transferred by plane to Kalahari Central Game Reserve. This Kalahari is dry, arid and dramatically beautiful. Game viewing here is reliant on water holes which in turn makes finding wildlife easy. Home to an incredible array of species, some of which are endemic to the area makes for an exciting safari experience in the depths of Africa’s 2nd largest desert. Your camp or lodge will be your little oasis of relaxation when you’re not out on game drives. Enjoy a cold Gin and Tonic as the sunsets over the plains. Perhaps one night you will decide on sleeping in luxury under the stars

DAY 4-8: THE OKOVANGO DELTA

In total contrast to Central Kalahari, next on the agenda is Botswana’s well known highlight, The Okovango Delta. Staying at a gorgeous tented camp your days here will be filled with game drives, walking safaris or exploring the channels of the Delta by Moroko [traditional Canoe]. The permanent and seasonal wetlands and floodplains mean that the area is teeming with wildlife and makes for a safari rich in game viewing. As seasoned safari goer, the delta blew me away and became one of my favourite parts of Africa’s safari scene.

DAY 8: BACK TO GABORONE

Time to head back to the capital and spend the day or even another night exploring the city and unwinding after an unforgettable safari that took you from the dramatic desert wilderness of the central Kalahari to the green, pristine waterways of the Okovango Delta.
