Safari Lodges and Tented camps
Award winning Camps and Lodges in the most beautiful, wild places Africa has to offer…
Ah, nothing like coming back to your lodge or tented camp after photographing an array of wildlife, hundreds of birds, the flora and fauna as well has appreciating the wide-open and glorious landscapes on Safari.
You will love these beautiful places we have personally stayed at and know you will have the best service.
There are different styles of places that you can choose from for the best Safari experience.
Your Safari can have lodges and tented camps of one style or a combination of different styles to fit
your style preference, budget, adventure spirit, etc.
I personally vet the quality of the lodges and tented camps, Safari guides, food, crew, and more.
This is of utmost importance when suggesting these places to you.
Besides that, I want to make sure they are in the right location.
Right Place, Right Time.
Seasonal Tented Camps
These are full fledge ‘tented rooms’ - aka glamping - that move around in areas like Serengeti National Park, Tanzania to get as close as possible to the migrating Wildebeest and Zebra who are moving around in the vast eco-system.
Seasonal or Mobile Camps like this leave no trace to the surroundings when they move seasonally, allowing for the most environmental conscience Safari experience.
Each spacious tent has private bathrooms, comfortable beds [family rooms are available as well], patio area with all the creature comforts you would expect, and more.
Eco-Lodges + Tented Camps
When planning your Safari, I will have a mental list running of some amazing lodges and tented camps. All of the Camps and Lodges I use are amazing, and most have won several Conde Nast Traveller Awards or a World Travel Award. Some lodges like our favorite Lamai Serengeti, Serengeti, Tanzania or Mala Mala, South Africa are permanent with solid walls.
Others like Ikuka Safari Camp - Ruaha, Tanzania, Alex Walker Serian - Masai Mara, Kenya, or Machaba Camp - Okavango Delta, Botswana have hard ‘tent canvas’ walls or what can also be known as ‘glamping’. They may look like tents from the outside but inside, they have all the bells and whistles that you would expect in any splendid room.
Exclusive Safari Lodges
If you want the best of the best on Safari as far as lodging is concerned, you want to stay in exclusive lodges like Singita Lodges who have lodges in Tanzania, Rwanda, South Africa, and Zimbabwe.
Legendary Expeditions and Chem Chem in Tanzania offer some amazing perks. AndBeyond and Great Plains Conservancy - Derek and Bevely Joubert are the renowed owners - are also exclusive lodges in Eastern and Southern Africa that will take your Safari to the next level.
