Oliver’s Camp [originally established in 1992 by Paul Oliver, one of our Professional Guides] offers true rustic accommodations. The 5 large tents offer comfortable inside with attached private facilities. Outside each of the tents, enjoy the beautiful sounds and surrounding of wilderness from the comfort of your verandah. The dining area is under a large tent and a library equipped with a telescope but the best part, there is a naturalist present to talk about wildlife, landscape not only of Tarangire but also of other parks in Tanzania.
Oliver's Camp offers the unique opportunity to leave the vehicle abehind and share the earth of Tarangire National Park with its wildlife. Walking safaris are guided by experienced walking guides and an armed ranger accompanies the walks. Guests learn about nature, wildlife behavior and animal tracks on walking safaris. Although animals are usually spotted on walking safaris, the goal is not to get as close as possible to the wildlife, but rather to observe their undisturbed behavior. Walking can best be done in the morning. Walks longer than half a day are available upon request. [Walking can't be done by children below 10 yrs of age. Participation in walking safaris is at own risk and participation of children is at parents risk]
