Central Serengeti Lodge ::
Also known as cat central for its large cat population

Mbuzi Mawe

Set amid rocky granite outcrops or 'kopjes', which are geological features of the Serengeti, Mbuzi Mawe consists of 16 permanet tents each with a private veranda overlooking the acacia woodlands as well as the endless plains. The interior of the tent is cozy with four poster beds on hard wood floors.

Mbuzi Mawe is located half way between Central Serengeti and Northern Serengeti. Within an hour, you can be in wooded Northern Serengeti or Central Serengeti's Seronera River Valley or as some like to call it - the cat cental!.

Resident lions, leopards and cheetahs enjoy this area because of the permanent water sources which attracts many of its prey. Any time from May to July, the resident predators enjoy a 'moveable feast', the migratory wildebeest and zebra population. Never a dull moment in when staying at Mbuzi Mawe as you are close to many of Serengeti's hot spots.

Olakira Central Camp

Olakira Central is a tented camp that is in Central Serengeti from June 1 to December 15, as during this time, the animal concentration is high in the central region. From December 15 to March 31, the camp is in Southern Serengeti when the animal concentration is high in the south from the arrival of the Wildebeest and Zebra Migration. The 8 tented room camp has been designed to be able to move quickly to be in good wildlife area for better viewing. This will be done before your arrival and will not move during your stay.

The tents are spacious with king-size or twin beds and bathrooms. Each tent has its own private verandah with a private view overlooking the Serengeti. Bathrooms have a shower, wash basin and an environmentally friendly toilet, using water and environmentally friendly chemicals.

The dining tent and lounge tent are a great place to relax and read a book or discuss the adventures of the day.

Serengeti Serena Lodge

Serengeti Serena is set discreetly high on a hill, offering magnificent view of the rolling unspoiled wilderness of the Serengeti plains. The theme of the lodge reflects a Maasai Village complete with Maasai Warriors. The Maasai Warriors will act as your escort at night from your room to dining tents. Each of the 66 rooms that look like Maasai huts has its own private verandah offering amazing views of the vast Serengeti plains below, home to the greatest wildlife spectacles on earth.

The advantage of staying at Serengeti Serena is the proximity to Seronera Valley. Central Serengeti has resident wildlife year round because of the permanet water sources which makes spending a couple of nights in this area a wonderful experience. Massages are available - a good treat after a day of game driving. The lodge has a pool from where you can enjoy the breathtaking views of The Serengeti.
