Soar above the wildlife in a basket
You start early for your adventure aboard a Hot Air Balloon. Serengeti Balloon Safari will drive you from your lodge in Central Serengeti or special campsite to Simba Kopje from where you will start your approximately hour long ride above Serengeti National Park.
On the way to the kopje, you will enjoy early morning game viewing. At Simba Kopje, your Captain will give you safety instructions which you must follow for everyone's safety. While waiting for the balloon to fill up with hot air, enjoy the beautiful sunrise over Serengeti National Park.
Once on the balloon, equipped with state of the art 'whisper' burners, you will soar over the Serengeti experiencing the breathtaking landscape as well as various wildlife below.
If the wind is in your favor, your route marker is the Seronera River. From the balloon basket, be ready for anything. From giraffes by the river to a group of lionesses seating under the tree and the wildebeest running in the horizon.
The finale to this unique experience is an hour of Champagne breakfast. You will share stories with other fellow balloonist as well as your Balloon Captain. After breakfast, you will head to Seronera Wildlife Lodge from where you will continue on with your Safari.
In Masai Mara, Balloon Safari is available from most lodges and flight takes place closest to the lodges.
